Upcoming Opportunities
Christmas Tree Sales - We are now selling trees - Don't forget to sign up for sales shifts at SignUp Genius: Sign Up for Tree Sales Shift   Many shifts remain uncovered and we need help from all members to make this fundraiser a success. For next weekend, we still need at least one more person per shift and two for Sunday 3-6PM.  If you are having trouble signing up on line, please contact Mike Foley so he can get you on the schedule. Please note: We are asking for only one person per shift on weeknights, unless someone specifically requests help.   If you are concerned about our new point-of-sale tool, please let Mike know. It really is easy to use!!

Giving Tuesday - November 28 - On this Giving Tuesday, we hope you will consider making a gift to one of the charities we mention regularly in this section, like Toys for Tots, The Locker Project, or Water Filters for Guatemala. Other options include a donation to the Rotary Foundation, to Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Club Charities, or to a charity of your choice.  Thank you for your generosity on Giving Tuesday.

The Locker Project - November 29 - Fresh food and baked good distribution at Westbrook High School in the cafeteria.  One volunteer needed for each date to work with Kiwanis volunteers.  1-2PM each time.  Wednesdays November 29 and December 13 .  If you can help on either of these dates, please contact Christine Johnson.  The Locker Project is a 501c3 which provides fresh fruits, vegetables and baked goods to schools in its program. You may also donate to TLP for the benefit of Westbrook schools by going to their website  mainelockerproject.org  or by check to 73 Federal St, Portland, ME 04101 (write Westbrook on the memo line).

Welcome Westbrook's Newest Business - Wednesday November 29 - ConvenientMD Grand Opening, 11:30-2:00 pm at 950 Main Street. Food and tours. Let's help welcome this new gateway business to Westbrook!

Coats for Seniors - Baxter Memorial Library in Gorham is a drop-off location for the Coats for Seniors program. Collecting until Nov. 30th. Donate your clean, gently used winter coats today. Toys for Tots Donation Drive- One option for drop off of unwrapped toys this year is the AllState offices of Carlo Giraulo 543 Main St, Westbrook.  Collecting from October 18 to December 15.

Clean Water for 100 Families in Guatemala– For $35 per family you can provide clean drinking water for one family in Guatemala for two years through an Ecofiltro unit. Scott Linscott has set a goal of helping 100 families by Christmas. He currently has 62. Won't you help push that number closer to his goal? Use the Easy Tithe app to make your tax-deductible contribution through FBC Westbrook by going to https://app.easytithe.com/g3/, click on Quick Give and use the drop down to choose the option Clean Water for 100 Families.  You may also write a check to FBC Westbrook and hand to Scott at a meeting.  Put “Clean Water” in the memo line.

Toiletries for the High School - Ongoing - Collect those tiny bottles of toiletries you are paying for during your next hotel visit and bring them home to help students in need of personal hygiene products. The HS Pantry and the HS Nurse are always looking to restock these basic supplies. You can always drop items off during the school day at the HS main office, or bring them to a meeting.

Donate to our Club's Charity through Amazon Smile – Ongoing - If you order items from Amazon.com, even if not very often, you can help Westbrook Gorham Rotary Club Charities.  Go to http://smile.amazon.com/. Search for our Charity and select it. You may need to login to your Amazon account before being able to finalize your selection.   Then, when you shop Amazon.com (always starting from http://smile.amazon.com/) a portion of every purchase will be donated to our charity.
Can Tabs for Ronald MacDonald House – Ongoing - While Pat & Cliff are in Florida, let’s keep collecting those can tabs! Let’s see how many we can save over the winter months.

CLYNK for Literacy - Ongoing - Don't forget to keep filling those bags to help fund the children's books we ask our speakers to sign for the Baxter and Walker Libraries. Extra bags are always available at our meetings.
Our Trees have Arrived!
On Friday November 24, after many changes of delivery time from the tree company, the trees finally arrived at our downtown Westbrook sales lot shortly after 3PM.

We are very grateful to the ten folks who could be flexible and worked hard to off load trees, unwrap trees, and finish the fencing and decorative lighting. We are particularly thankful for our newest (not quite yet) member Kathi Perkins who brought two granddaughters, one with a boyfriend.  Also to Bill Chadwick who brought his friend Steve Dulac.  The extra hands were much needed.

Interact Pies for the Pantry
Seventeen Interact Club members from Westbrook High School made a dozen pies to donate to the Westbrook Food Pantry just in time for Thanksgiving. President Morgan Kendall, with the help of some of her members, planned and purchased the required ingredients to make apple, pumpkin and chocolate cream pies for Westbrook families.

On Monday evening November 20, the Interact Club was joined by their Adviser Dr Bruce Dyer and by Westbrook-Gorham Rotary member Christine Johnson. The group had a lot of fun and made some delicious pies in the former Home Economics kitchen at WHS.

Pies were delivered to the Food Pantry on Tuesday afternoon. A huge thanks to the club for continuing this annual tradition.
